15 weeks onwards, the external genitalia are generally more developed and ultrasound visibility improves.

During Your Scan
Please remember that this is a
diagnostic ultrasound examination.
The sonographer may need to concentrate on obtaining appropriate diagnostic images and may discuss findings with the mum-to-be during the appointment.
We therefore ask all guests to respect the clinical nature of the examination and avoid unnecessary interruptions while the sonographer is performing the scan.

Your diagnostic obstetric ultrasound scan will be performed by an appropriately trained and qualified sonographer.
Our sonographers have experience in obstetric ultrasound and are registered with the
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) where applicable to their professional registration.
