How Many Attempts to Collect the Blood Sample?

  • Please take note of the following in our Phlebotomy policy, Each staff member is permitted only two attempts to collect a blood sample from a patient.
  • However, if a patient’s veins are difficult to access, another phlebotomist may take over the collection, or the patient will be rebooked to be attended by Our Senior Registered Manager, with the patient’s consent.
  • We provide a same-day blood result service for some blood tests (Monday –  Saturday, excluding Bank Holidays).
  • We’re excited to announce the launch of our new online appointment booking system for blood tests. This system makes it easier for patients to schedule their tests in advance. Patients can now book their blood test appointments online, saving time and effort. We hope this improvement will enhance the overall patient experience.
  • To secure your appointment at Miracle Inside Diagnostic Scan Centre, the following payments are required:
  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of £30.
  • Phlebotomy Charges: An additional fee of £25 for phlebotomy services.

Preparation Before Your Blood Test

To ensure accurate results and a smooth experience, please follow these guidelines before your blood test:

  • Rest: Ensure you get plenty of rest the night before your appointment.
  • Hydration: Drink at least 500ml of water on the day of your appointment.
  • Avoid: Refrain from strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours before the test.
  • Fasting: Some tests may require you to fast for 8-12 hours beforehand. Please confirm this requirement with our staff when booking.
  • Comfort: Wear comfortable clothing, as some parts of the test may require you to remain still. Bringing a book or music can help you relax during the test.
  • Phobias: If you have a known phobia of needles or blood, it is advisable to bring a friend or family member for support and inform our clinic team beforehand.

Service Focus: Our service provides quick access to blood test results. We do not interpret the results; it is essential to have your results reviewed by your doctor.

What to Expect During the Test

  • Initial Consultation: The process begins after you speak to a trained phlebotomist or a medical professional skilled in venepuncture.
  • Information Collection: Relevant information such as your name and date of birth will be collected.
  • Procedure: A latex-free tourniquet will be placed around your arm. A needle will then be inserted into a vein in your arm or the back of your hand.
  • Blood Withdrawal: The phlebotomist will quickly withdraw the necessary amount of blood for the tests.
  • Post-Procedure Care: The needle will be removed, and pressure will be applied to the site with a piece of gauze to stop the bleeding. A plaster will then be applied (please inform the staff if you are allergic to sticking plasters).

Attempt Policy :- Our Attempts Limit as per our policy allows each staff member up to 2 attempts to collect a blood sample per patient. If a vein proves difficult, with your permission, another Senior phlebotomist may attempt the procedure.

Appointment Duration and Sample Delivery

  • Appointment Time: The blood test appointment at our central Leeds clinic will take less than 10 minutes.
  • Sample Delivery: All samples are promptly delivered to one of our laboratory partners.

Additional Information

  • Tests Range: This is a small sample of the blood tests offered by Miracle Inside. Consult with our healthcare professionals for advice on appropriate tests for your condition.
  • Results Timing: Lab results are estimates and can vary. Tests taken after 1 pm are classified as the next day. . If the reviewing doctor is the same as the requesting doctor, an additional working day may be required.
  • Multiple Tests: Results for multiple tests will be reported together unless immediate concern arises. Additional tests, if required, will not incur extra charges.

Please note that the lab results provided by Miracle Inside are estimates and may vary. You will receive a written analysis of your results within 1 working day. If additional tests are needed, there is no extra charge for this service.
