Vistara Test ( Prenatal Test addition to Panorama Test)
Go beyond chromosomal anomalies and assess single-gene disorders.
Identifying single-gene mutations is usually done after childbirth or during childhood. However, due to the evolution of NIPT, Vistara NIPT, a
prenatal DNA test, goes beyond detecting chromosomal conditions to assess single-gene disorders. Vistara -Single Gene NIPT does not test for chromosomal abnormalities such as extra chromosomes (Trisomy) or test for your baby’s gender. It is done to identify single-gene mutations that affect your baby’s health. Miracle Inside Diagnostic Centre, located near Leeds provides Vistara prenatal tests in addition to
panorama tests for just

Miracle Inside at Harrogate provides the advanced Vistara Prenatal Test, which serves as a valuable complement to the Panorama test. The Vistara test screens for a variety of serious genetic conditions that arise from single-gene mutations within 30 distinct genes. These mutations can significantly affect an individual's quality of life and may warrant medical or surgical intervention to improve health outcomes.
One of the key advantages of the Vistara test is its ability to identify genetic disorders that occur more frequently than Down Syndrome when considered together. This comprehensive approach allows for early detection and potential management of conditions that might otherwise go unnoticed in standard screenings.
Additionally, the Vistara Prenatal Test offers insights into genetic conditions that are typically not evaluated through traditional non-invasive prenatal tests (NIPTs) or carrier screening methods. This broader scope helps to provide expectant parents with a clearer understanding of their baby's genetic health.
Importantly, the Vistara Single Gene NIPT is designed with safety in mind, as it carries no risk of miscarriage, making it a reassuring choice for prenatal genetic testing. Through this innovative testing service, Miracle Inside aims to empower families with the knowledge they need for informed decision-making regarding their prenatal care.
Opt for a Vistara -Single Gene NIPT blood test for the following indications:
- Paternal age (over 40 years)
- If you’d like to know as much as possible or as an extra to your Panorama Test, CVS, or amniocentesis
- If ultrasound anomalies are identified on your scan (such as shortened long bones, increased NT measurements, or cardiac defects)
The focus here is on
de novo dominant disorders at the SNP level. This is useful for advanced paternal age (35+) and non-specific ultrasound findings, such as shorter long bones. For each condition, the attached list has the lists of genes we analyse, the detection rates, types of ultrasound findings, and clinical actions.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the Natera Vistara Advanced NIPT?
The Natera Vistara Advanced NIPT is a non-invasive prenatal screening test that analyses small fragments of fetal DNA in the mother’s blood to screen for single-gene conditions in addition to standard chromosome-based risks. It extends beyond typical screening to offer early insight into more specific genetic conditions.
What conditions does Vistara screen for?
Vistara screens for 25 genetic conditions across 30 genes, including serious skeletal, cardiac, neurological, and developmental disorders that aren’t usually detected by standard NIPT or routine carrier screening.
How early in pregnancy can I take the test?
Like other prenatal cfDNA tests, Vistara can typically be done as early as about 9–10 weeks of pregnancy, once enough fetal DNA is present in the blood for reliable analysis.
Is Vistara a diagnostic test?
No. Vistara is a screening test, not a diagnostic test. A screen-positive result means there’s an increased chance of a condition, but it does not confirm whether the condition is present. Follow-up diagnostic testing, such as amniocentesis or CVS, is usually recommended to confirm the findings.
How accurate is the test?
Vistara has been shown in validation studies to have high analytical sensitivity and specificity for the conditions it screens, meaning it can reliably identify pregnancies at increased risk for these gene-linked conditions.
Why choose Vistara over standard NIPT?
Standard NIPT tests focus on common chromosomal differences like trisomies (21, 18, 13). Vistara goes further by screening for single-gene disorders that may not show up on typical chromosome-based panels. This can provide earlier information about conditions that might benefit from preparation, management, and early intervention.
How will I receive my results?
Results are usually sent back to your healthcare provider, who will discuss the findings with you. Some providers may also offer access through an online patient portal or follow-up call.
What if my result shows increased risk?
If Vistara indicates a higher risk for a screened condition, your clinician will guide you on the next steps, which often include confirmatory diagnostic testing and genetic counselling.
Is genetic counselling available?
Yes. Genetic counselling is often offered alongside Vistara to help you understand what the results mean and to support decision-making about follow-up care.
